Getting There:

The Cancun International Airport is the main airport for the city and serves as a hub for many international airlines. It’s located just a few minutes from the Cancun hotel zone, making it easy to get to your accommodations once you arrive.

How to get around Cancun?

Taxi

Taxis are widely available in Cancun and are a popular mode of transportation. They can be hailed on the street, found at designated taxi stands, or requested through a taxi app. It’s advisable to negotiate the fare or ensure the driver uses the meter before starting the journey.

Rental Cars

Renting a car provides flexibility and freedom to explore Cancun and its surrounding areas at your own pace. There are numerous car rental agencies available at the airport and throughout the city. However, be aware of local driving customs and road regulations, and consider the cost of parking, especially in the Hotel Zone.

Colectivos

Colectivos are shared vans or minivans that operate on fixed routes between Cancun and other popular destinations like Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and the Riviera Maya. They are often a more economical option compared to taxis or private transportation services.

Bicycling or walking are also great options to get around the Cancun hotel zone. When choosing a transportation method, consider factors such as convenience, cost, distance, and your specific needs. It’s always a good idea to plan your transportation in advance, especially for longer trips or visits to attractions outside of Cancun, to ensure a smooth and enjoyable travel experience.
